I am home from work today with what I assumed was a sick boy. He threw up for most of the night so I called for a sub and ran into the school to plan before DH left for work. Now he is running around and annoying his sister. Oh well neither of us got much sleep so a day at home is welcome. I just hope my classes behave for my sub!
So it's been awhile since I posted so I'll back up an review.
Tuesday last week Reezer wouldn't stay at playschool because she had a substitute teacher. Of course once I brought her home she wanted to go right back! I wonder if she'll run away from Kindergarten next year if her teacher is gone - Grandma is going to be so close to the school now we might have issues!
Thursday DH took Reezer to the dentist - another abcessed tooth. I tell you it makes you feel like a crappy parent when your child has bad teeth! She has to go back this Thursday for fillings and possibly get that tooth pulled. That kid has had more dental work in the last two years. Thank goodness for dental plans! On a side note the dental nurse is the same one who working in the school in K-town when I was in elementary school. Now that was a good program - wonder which government decided to get rid of that?
Friday was a great puddle day! Even E went puddle jumping with some friends. I was wishing I had more than one pair of splash pants for the kids.
Friday was also a day of exciting news - we are going to have a spot in BC to visit on a regular basis as part of our lake family is heading West. I am envisioning a lot of ski trips and summer vacays in sunny BC. Of course first I had to have a meltdown that they were leaving but as G-Lo pointed out I did leave first.
Saturday we cleaned like crazy - in between holding the pail for Reezer. She was on a half hour puke pail for the morning then had a great long nap and woke to eat toast and eggs and tell me that wasn't that funny mom I was sick for the morning and now I'm good. And she was never threw up again. I guess that's what BB is dealing with now.
Sunday I took E and a friend to the border city for a softball clinic. The clinic was focused on batting after which E proceeded to inform me that all these years I've been telling her to keep her elbows up that "that may have been true in the 60's but it is so incorrect now". Guess I need to relearn batting - anyone else?
While in the border city I did some crazy quick shopping and picked up a new weight machine for the basement. DH, Auntie Wendy and I worked on putting it together for almost 3 hours and we are still not done. All we have left is the cables and pulleys so hopefully we can get it done tonight - I am excited to try it out.
One last item - DH and I are going on a honeymoon! After 5 years of marriage we are going on a trip for just the two of us! We are going to Vegas in April. We are leaving on a Thursday and flying home late Monday. This will be the first time we have spent that much time alone - we've always had kids with us. Wonder if we'll still like each other when we get back? Just kidding!
This weekend brings our first dance competition. E and I will leave with some other moms and girls on Saturday morning and return late Sunday night. DH will manage the little ones as it is his weekend off.
Have a good day!
